Come Together: Conversation about Power, Privilege, and Humanity

About a month ago, my fellow yoga teacher, podcast partner, and friend Rachelle Knowles sent me a text saying “I’m having a hard time. I don’t know how to teach yoga today.”

I knew what she meant.  The world that week had been particularly hostile, unjust and cruel. I’d been wrestling with my own inner feelings of powerlessness towards the systems of oppression that sustain our world and allow injustices to occur simply because of differences in skin color, gender, or sexual preference. As Rachelle and I talked on the phone trying to sort out how to navigate our reactions and feelings of helplessness, the only thing I could think of was to take action- “let’s do something.”

Staying true to our belief that transformation begins with self-inquiry, that language and conversation are powerful tools to create change and understanding, that we are all interconnected and that community matters, we would like to invite you to join us for an afternoon of community, connection and real talk on November 13th from 1:00- 3:00 pm.  Come Together: Conversation about Power, Privilege, and Humanity is part group experience, part storytelling, part individual exploration, full of hope for the future that we all most create together.

In order to keep an intimate conversation, there are spots for 50 people. Tickets are $7/single or $14/pair if you have a friend in mind that you’d like to invite to be a part of the conversation.
